TLC SPEECH AND LANGUAGE

Feeding Therapy Services

Speech Language Pathologists specialize in treating mechanical based feeding disorders, sensory-based feeding disorders, and behavioral feeding disorders. Feeding therapy helps infants and children with a wide array of feeding difficulties which may include one or more of the following:

  • Reduced or limited intake
  • Food refusal
  • Food selectivity by type and/or texture
  • Diagnosis of GERD in infancy that decreased oral feeding
  • Overstuffing mouth, choking, gagging or vomiting when eating
  • Increased meal times due to behavioral reactions or chewing stamina
  • Dysphagia (swallowing difficulty)
  • Oral motor disorder
  • Delayed feeding development
  • Mealtime tantrums

We use the S.O.S. Approach to Feeding to help children improve nutritional status and build a healthy lifestyle consuming a wide variety of foods. Our speech therapist will work with our occupational therapists to ensure that fine motor and sensory processing disorders are considered in your child's treatment plan.
